Support for families and carers

Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SoBS)

Survivors of bereavement by suicide (SOBS) hold a regular peer support group in Lincoln every second Saturday of the month 1pm - 3pm. This takes place at Involve@Lincoln, 12 Mint Lane, Lincoln, LN1 1UD. Permit controlled parking is available next door and there is no charge for attendance. The group is open to anyone suffering the impact of the suicide of a relative or friend, whether recent or many years ago.  Support is provided only from people who have lived through similar experiences on a mutually confidential basis. CRUSE - local and national bereavement care
The Cruse Bereavement Care National Helpline is open for information, advice and emotional support, from 9.30am to 5pm Monday and Friday and 9.30am to 8pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Local support and groups

Shine - mental health support network
Shine have a database of local groups and organisations that run activities locally to support people with experience of mental ill health or distress.

Useful advice and links to support in Lincolnshire on some of the issues you might be struggling with such as money, health, housing, care, legal or work issues.


Free online suicide prevention training

The Zero Suicide Alliance, in conjunction with Merseycare NHS Foundation NHS Trust, provide free access to online suicide awareness training.
This module is suitable for anyone - carers, family members and members of the public. It is not mental health-specific, but provides a useful approach to talking about suicide and signposting people to professional help.
