The NHS friends and family test

Print or save PDF

The NHS friends and family test (FFT) is an important opportunity for you to provide feedback on the services that provide your care and treatment. Your feedback will help both the Trust and NHS England to improve services for everyone.

We collect this through our Making experiences count patient survey which you will have an opportunity to complete at regular points in your care and treatment with us. If you would like to feedback about your experiences now however you can complete the online feedback form available here.

The results of how our patients rate our services are regularly published on NHS Choices as they become available. For ease of reference we have also published our results below.

Do you have to respond to the question?

Your answer is voluntary. But if you do answer, your feedback will provide valuable information for our services to celebrate good practice, and identify opportunities to make improvements.

Your answer will not be traced back to you, and your details will not be passed on to anyone. A member of your family or a friend is welcome to answer the question if you are unable to.

What our patients say

The PCDU is a very friendly and safe environment. I feel like the space is very useful for people who feel like they aren't safe in their own home. Here you are encouraged to make this space feel as close to home as possible and to be comfortable.

The ward cared for my mum extremely well and kept me informed in all aspects of her care. They supported her discharge and the case for her funding needs.

We were seen promptly and were both treated with care and compassion that helped to relive an extremely stressful situation. My partner was treated with absolute respect, was listened to and had any questions answered fully. We received referral immediately to the Crisis Team and seen the next day. We could not fault the MHLS in anyway. Thank you so much.

Friendly welcoming place, provides a safe area. You are treated with respect and staff are very patient and non-judgemental.

The friends and family test for staff

From 1 April 2014, all NHS trusts in England are also  required to implement a similar set of questions for staff. Staff are asked on a quarterly basis whether they would recommend the trust as a place to work and receive treatment. Similar to the patient FFT these results are also regularly published on NHS Choices website. For ease of reference we have also published these results below.
