Carer mental health training available in Gainsborough

The Trust will be hosting its six week carer mental health training programme in Gainsborough this July, free to all carers and families of people with a mental health problem in Lincolnshire.

Hosted at John Coupland Hospital in Gainsborough every Monday between 6pm and 8pm.

The six week course will cover:

  • Services available and what they offer
  • Understanding common conditions such as depression, anxiety, and forms of psychosis
  • Explanation of legal powers used during treatment
  • Patient consent and confidentiality
  • Help available for carers
  • Self-help and what to do in a crisis
  • Other carer and patient stories
  • Chance to ask health professionals questions.
