Mental health support showcase

Published on: 18th June 2015

Community projects supporting those suffering from mental health problems are set to be showcased for the people of Boston.

Whether you’re experiencing mental health problems for the first time, living with a long term condition or simply have an interest in maintaining your own health and wellbeing, everyone is welcome to attend the drop in event to find out more about the support available in their area.

Many of the featured projects have been supported by the Mental Health Promotion Fund, which was launched by Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT) and Lincolnshire County Council back in 2012.

The fund helps those recovering from mental ill health and to date, 80 projects have been funded across 97 locations in Lincolnshire.

These projects help local people by providing a range of different activities including social support and friendship groups, formal and informal learning, and volunteering.

LPFT Associate Director, Paul Jackman, said the event was an important opportunity for people to discover what help is available for them out there.

These are meaningful projects helping to close the gap between NHS treatment services and a local network of community and voluntary support groups and activities.  We continue to want to provide more help for more people, nearer to where they live and these showcases are a great opportunity to strengthen local relationships.

The showcase takes place from 10am to 1pm at Boston Conservative Club, 16 Main Ridge, Boston, PE21 6QQ on 31st July.

If your local support group or organisation would like to have a stand at the Boston showcase event, contact Aaron Hall in the Community Partnerships team via email: aaron.hall@lpft.nhs.uk or call him on (01529) 222223 to book your place.
