About steps2change

One in four of us will experience a common mental health problem such as anxiety, stress or depression at some point in our lives. steps2change is an Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service that provides help to people in Derbyshire.

steps2change consists of qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapists, Counsellors, Interpersonal Therapists, and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners; all  employed by Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to provide psychological treatment on behalf of NHS Derbyshire County.

steps2change became operational in October 2009 and has since significantly improved access to psychological help in the area and received positive feedback from both patients and referrers. In October 2010 the service opened its own psychological therapies centre at Spire Walk in Chesterfield.

The service aims to continue improving access to psychological therapies and can now provide help in one to one, or group settings, in GP practices, at Spire Walk or over the telephone.
