Meet our team

The steps2change team consists of Cognitive Behavioural Therapists, Counsellors, Employment Advisors, Interpersonal Therapists, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, Team Coordinator, Service Manager, Clinical Lead and Admim Team; all of which have one main focus - to provide you with the best care possible.

Admin Team:

Admin Assistants are very much the backbone of the service and will often be your first point of contact with us. Whether your contact is face to face or over the phone, Admin Assistants work hard to ensure that you’re assisted in a professional and helpful manner.

Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners:

A Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) is trained to help you work towards feeling better about your problems. Your therapist can provide support using brief cognitive behavioural based techniques as well as introduce you to appropriate self help material or other services that may be of help to you. Cognitive Behavioural Therapists:

A Cognitive Behavioural Therapist will work with you in order to help you understand your problems. They help explore the thoughts you have about yourself, others and the world around you; as well as the way you behave and the impact that your behaviour has on thoughts and feelings. Your therapist can help you to change how you think and what you do, which can help you feel better about your life. Find out more about Cognitive Behavioural Therapy by using this link.

Counsellors:

Counsellors are trained to listen empathetically and can help you deal with any negative thoughts and feelings. You will work with your counsellor to discuss your problems honestly and openly, deal with issues that are preventing you from achieving your goals and ambitions and gain a more positive outlook on life while in a safe environment. Interpersonal Therapists:

Your Interpersonal Therapist will help you focus on your relationships with others and on problems, such as communication difficulties.  You will explore how your mood can influence how you relate to the people who are close to you. Find out more about Interpersonal Therapy by using this link.

Employment Advisors

If your difficulties relate to your employment you may be referred to an Employment Advisor who can help to support you with work related issues.
