Volunteering

Print Friendly and PDF

Volunteers play an important role in our Trust, by providing a much needed helping hand to people with mental health problems, learning disabilities and/or autism.

We recruit people from a wide range of backgrounds, for a variety of rewarding opportunities (although recruitment is currently on hold due to the Coronavirus pandemic).

Benefits of volunteering

Not only do the people using our services benefit from the contribution our volunteers make, but you can also benefit from the experience.

By giving up your time to lend a helping hand and supporting the work of our clinical professionals, you in return will get the satisfaction of time and effort well spent.

In addition, volunteering can be a great way to:

  • meet new people
  • learn new skills
  • gain useful experience
  • give something back

Who can volunteer

Volunteers come from all walks of life. They bring a wide variety of skills to our Trust and no previous experience of healthcare is necessary. Volunteering provides a worthwhile activity which we greatly value as does everyone you assist.

The minimum age is 18 and there is no upper limit.

Volunteer opportunities

Volunteer recruitment is currently on hold due to the Coronavirus pandemic. We are accepting applications (via email where possible please) from prospective volunteers and taking up references in preparation for when things change.

We will update the information on this page and via the volunteer newsletter as restrictions due to Coronavirus develop. If you would like more information about volunteering or sending an application, please contact the Volunteer Service using the details on the right side of this page.

We really appreciate your interest in becoming a volunteer with LPFT and look forward to welcoming you when it is safe to do so.
