CBT Anxiety Week 1

Week 1 is an introduction to the therapy we do here at Young Minds Matter.

Topics covered include:

  • An introduction to your facilitators
  • Getting to know you
  • Creating mutual therapy related rules
  • What is Anxiety?
  • What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)?
  • Goal Setting

Each week, you will be given a workbook that explains the topics and supports your therapy session. These are shown in the green resources section. 

 

Skills

You will also learn the first of your new skills:

  • If you are at primary school, this will be 5 Star Breathing
  • If older this will be Square Breathing

Our practitioners have made supporting videos for you to access to remind you how to use the skills. These are shown in the green resources section. 

 

Home Task

Each week you will be asked to complete a Home Task. These tasks should not take long, but help to support your learning. This week's home task can be found within the workbook, but is also shown in the green resources section
