Lincolnshire mental health service celebrates first birthday

Published on: 20th January 2023

A vital NHS service which helps children, young people and their families in Lincolnshire is celebrating its one-year anniversary this week.

The Here4You Access Team, which officially launched last January, is run by Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT) and is responsible for triaging referrals to children and young people (CYP) mental health services.

It also runs the Here4You advice line, which provides mental health and emotional wellbeing advice to young people, parents, carers and professionals.

In the last year, the team has taken a total of 3,707 calls to the advice line, given advice to over 1,500 professionals and parents, processed over 500 online self-referrals and referred over 2,000 people to services from the advice line.

Hayley Slater, Service Manager for the Children and Young People’s Emotional Wellbeing Service at LPFT, explains:

“The Here4You advice line is the first point of access for many children, young people and their families in Lincolnshire, and we’re so pleased to have been able to support so many in the last year.

“The team offers tips and strategies on ways young people can help themselves or, if it’s agreed that extra support is needed, the team will explore with the caller about what services may be able to help most effectively.”

The advice line is open 24/7 and can be reached on 0800 234 6342.
