Staff networks
Overview
We value the equality, diversity and human rights of our staff and service users. As a public body each NHS organisation has a duty to ensure that, wherever possible, everybody can use or receive its services to the same standards regardless of:
- race
- disability (including learning disability)
- gender
- age
- religion or belief
- sexual orientation
- civil partnership
- maternity and pregnancy
- gender reassignment
Why do we need staff networks?
Staff networks are protected and supportive spaces where colleagues can connect, share lived experiences, and be part of positive change.
They bring together staff with shared characteristics or interests, such as ethnicity, disability, LGBTQ+ identity, faith, or caring responsibilities and offer space for solidarity, learning and mutual support.
The networks help amplify voices that may not always be heard and support a culture where everyone feels they belong. Whether staff want to speak up, listen, learn, or just know they're not alone, our staff networks networks are here to offer support.
