Board stories
Each meeting of the Board of Directors begins with a story from a patient, service user, carer or family member that shares their experience of Trust services. It demonstrates the importance the Board places on listening to people with lived experience, delivering high quality, innovative care and continuously improving services.
Information for staff, patients and carers who are presenting service experiences at a Board meeting:
When presenting a story, it is important to offer a balanced view of strengths and opportunities. It is also important not to disclose patient identifiable information and this may require some thought as to how to achieve this. For example, anonymous patient, ward, hospital and town names. When presenting a story, think about the key issues for the service and the information the Board may require to make decisions or to make quality improvements.
The Board of Directors meetings are held ‘in public’, which means that anyone is free to attend and, with notice, may ask questions on any of the agenda items listed for discussion. The Chair allows up to fifteen minutes at the start of the meeting for this. It is quite likely that you will start within a minute or so of 9 am.
The meeting will take place via Microsoft Teams Live Events, so that members of the public can watch via live stream. We can offer demonstration sessions of the system in advance of the meeting in order to test the technology and ensure those presenting the story are able to join. You have the option to join using your camera and audio or just using audio.
During the meeting, please keep any story and/or presentation to about ten minutes. Once you have finished presenting, the Chair will co-ordinate any questions and will invite members of the Board to ask these to you directly.
If you would like any more information, please feel free to contact the Trust Secretary's Office.
