Join Dementia Research

Dementia is one of the biggest challenges we face today. The number of people with dementia is set to double over the next 30 years. Research offers hope. It is only through research that we can understand what causes the disease, develop effective treatments, improve care and hopefully one day find a cure.

But for research to progress we need more people to take part in more studies. Our knowledge of dementia currently lags behind that of other major conditions, such as cancer or heart disease. We have to close this gap.

ENRICH

The Lincolnshire ENRICH (Enabling Research in Care Homes) Forum takes place three times a year in collaboration with the University of Lincoln and we aim to provide opportunities for best practice learning and research delivery/development. It is an opportunity to network and hear from study teams. You can learn how research can improve care, motivate and retain staff, and provide valuable evidence for CQC inspections.

If you are a care home, clinician, academic or member of the public interested in care home research then please contact lpft.research@nhs.net for further details of how to become a forum member and/or take part in research.

Research Champions

We have recently launched research champions within the Trust and now have three active champions working with the team. If you are interested in volunteering your time please contact lpft.research@nhs.net to find out more about our rewarding and positive research opportunities.

Information about research champions from the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR)

Patient Research Experience Survey (PRES)

We are undertaking the Patient Research Experience Survey in partnership with the NIHR (National Institute for Health Research) Clinical Research Network East Midlands. This survey will help us better understand the experience of people taking part in clinical research.

Please only complete the survey if you have taken part in research. The information you give us will be used to understand:

  • What works best for patients in the way we do research in the NHS
  • Where we can make helpful changes in the way we do things if needed

It may also be used for example in:

  • Publicity about the value of research to patients
  • Illustrating reports about research

Completion of the survey is voluntary and we do not ask for any personal details that identify you.
