Allied Health Professionals (AHPs)

Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) provide services for people across the life course, so have a crucial role to play in all areas of care, to improve the health and wellbeing of the general population.

AHPs are the third largest workforce within the NHS, and there are 14 different professions which hold the title of AHP.

Within LPFT, AHPs include:

  • Occupational Therapists
  • Physiotherapists
  • Speech Language Therapists
  • Dietitians
  • Paramedics
  • Art Therapists
  • Music Therapists
  • Drama Therapists
  • AHP Support Staff

LPFT AHPs work collaboratively, within multi-professional teams across the Trust.

A Lincolnshire AHP Strategic Forum, which brings together Lead AHPs and uni-professional leads from across organisations in Lincolnshire, has a Strategic Plan which focuses on the following objectives:

  • High quality care
  • Education: developing the Lincolnshire AHP workforce for now and the future
  • Recruitment and Retention: Creating a sustainable AHP community in Lincolnshire
  • Innovation and research
  • Recognising, valuing and celebrating excellence in Lincolnshire
