Involvement opportunity - Patient Safety Partner needed
The Patient Safety Partner (PSP) is a new and evolving role developed by NHS England (NHSE) to help improve patient safety across all NHS organisations in England.
This is an exciting opportunity to join us at Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to develop our safety culture, by ensuring that the people who use our services and live within the communities we serve, contribute to the development of patient safety systems and are involved in safety at all levels of the organisation. The role will include being part of our Quality Committee.
As a Patient Safety Partner, you will ensure that any committees, groups or project of which you are a member, considers and prioritises the patient, carer and family perspective and champions a diversity of views.
Your contribution will provide an unbiased and uncompromised view of what it feels like to receive care and will support where changes to our services are necessary.
If you have an interest in patient safety and are confident to put forward views on behalf of the wider community through active involvement in committees and project work, we would love to hear from you.
The role of Patient Safety Partner is not an employed role. However, the Trust is currently developing its approach to renumerating patient, public, service users and carers for specific levels of involvement and this will be determined during late Autumn 2022. It is, therefore, expected that elements of this post will be renumerated attracting an involvement payment at a rate of £11.50 per hour. Travel expenses will also be reimbursed. We anticipate that this new role will require 8 to 10 hours per month commitment.
To apply, please refer to the Information and Application Pack on this page for further details of what the role entails and to apply for the role. Closing date for applications is Sunday 5 March.
