A mental health worker at Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT) has won a national Positive, Compassionate and Inclusive Award, open to nominations for all NHS Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) across the entire country.

Health Education England (HEE) recently hosted its very first national awards ceremony, ‘Celebrating our Inspirational National AHP Support Workforce’, showcasing the brilliant work of England’s AHP support workers, with nominations invited in a variety of categories.

Within the Midlands area, there were many nominations, placing a spotlight on the AHP talent across the wider region and more locally at LPFT. An impressive seven LPFT AHP support workers received nominations for their achievements within their roles. An Occupational Therapy Assistant, from Lincoln, picked up the coveted national ‘Positive, Compassionate and Inclusive’ title.

Laura Dearie, Occupational Therapist at LPFT, put forward the nomination for the winner. She added:

" It’s a tremendous achievement for the individual and the Trust to win this award; they thoroughly deserve it. I nominated a staff member for the Positive, Passionate and Inclusive Award as I believe this award embodies the core behaviours and values of the NHS, which this particular health professional positively delivers every day. All our nominated staff are compassionate when dealing with service users, staff, carers and the general public, always promoting inclusion and diversity. We’re really proud of them all.”

Polly Blaydes, Associate Director of AHPs at LPFT, added:

"Well done to everyone who was nominated and thank you to all our AHP Support Workers who deliver services across the Trust making such a difference. AHP Support Worker roles are very much valued and important members of the multidisciplinary teams - thank you for everything you do.”
