Staff at Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust have rated the Trust among the top five mental health and learning disability trusts nationally, as a place they’d recommend working for in a recent survey.
The results of the national NHS Staff Survey that took place at the end of 2024 show that 75 per cent of respondents working at Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT) would recommend the Trust as a place to work. Placing the Trust joint third nationally among similar organisations.
The Trust also scored either top in the country for mental health and learning disability trusts or well above the national average in all of the different domains – which include themes such as ‘staff morale’, ‘working as a team’ and ‘working flexibly’.
The survey which is independently organised on behalf of NHS England is carried out between September and November each year. In 2024, 61 per cent of the Trust’s workforce responded which is one of the best response rates for all NHS mental health and learning disability trusts taking part in the survey.
The survey is used by trusts to help improve staff and patient experience and by regulators such as the Care Quality Commission to make sure quality standards are being met.
The results this year overall show sustained performance for the Trust across a number of key areas, but as always there is also work to focus on.
Sarah Connery, Chief Executive at Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, said:
“The national NHS Staff Survey is a vital indicator of the Trust’s performance in many of the areas that matter to our colleagues, and we take the results very seriously. I am grateful that so many of our staff completed the 2024 survey to tell us what it is like working here.
“There is lots to take from these results. For example, staff satisfaction and engagement is one of our top priorities and having staff who feel valued is important to us as this aligns closely with the quality of care that they deliver to our patients.
“We know there will always be more we can do and that we need continued focus on supporting our staff when they become targets of violence and aggression from patients and their families, but it is pleasing to see that on the whole staff recognise the work we are doing to support them.
“Even though we remain above the national average we know there is always more we can do to ensure our staff are continually supported to deliver high quality mental health, dementia, learning disability and autism services to our patients, service users and their families and carers.”
