Make your voice heard: Nominations open for 2023 LPFT Council of Governor elections

Published on: 12th July 2023

Nominations are now open for Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s (LPFT) Council of Governors elections, which will take place this summer.

There are two seats available for members of the public with by-elections being held to fill vacancies in South Holland and Lincoln with nominations open until Monday, 24 July.

Debbie Abrams OBE, who is Lead Governor and represents the public of South Kesteven, said:

“As Governors, we ensure that the views of service users, carers, staff and the people of Lincolnshire are heard at the very highest level of the Trust.

“We hold the Board of Directors to account on their decision making and work collaboratively to ensure services continually improve.”

Governors are invited to take part in a diverse range of activities, which can include attending community events, featuring on interview panels and being part of project teams establishing new facilities and services.

Emma Slack became the Public Governor for East Lindsey in October 2021 knowing she could make a difference using her experience of being a parent carer for her two sons.

She said:

“I love meeting all the different people and learning about different services so I can pass that knowledge onto others.

“It’s such a rewarding role. You give people a voice perhaps who don’t have one and you learn a whole lot of new skills that are transferrable.”

Voting will take place between Monday 14 August and Friday 8 September with the results of the election being formally announced at LPFT’s Annual Public Meeting on Monday 11 September.
