Nursing Apprenticeship now accepting applications

Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT), the NHS Trust which provides mental health services and a number of learning disability, autism and social care services in Lincolnshire, has opened for applications for its sought after mental health nursing apprenticeship scheme.

This role give successful applicants the opportunity to study mental health nursing via an apprenticeship route with the University of Lincoln. Applicants can gain practical experience through a range of inpatient and community nursing placements at the Trust.

Sharon Harvey, Director of Nursing at LPFT, comments:

“We’ve doubled the number of nursing degree apprentice opportunities this year as we had such demand last year. It runs in partnership with the University of Lincoln, so it’s a great opportunity to earn whilst you learn, have a permanent job at LPFT throughout the course, have access to our amazing staff benefits and we pay the Uni fees – it’s a real win-win.”

Molly Garrick, Apprentice Nurse at LPFT, says:

"For a number of years, I had wanted to complete my nursing degree, but due to having a young family I was apprehensive around finances, support and I lacked the confidence to push myself to apply.

“The apprenticeship solved that! It is great way for me to remain in employment, study and gain valued work experience!”

Will Stones, Apprentice Nurse at LPFT, adds:

"The apprenticeship gives you the best of both worlds – a wage, integration into a high paced working team and training to gain a nursing degree. What could be better?!"

Neave Baker, Apprentice Nurse at LPFT, adds:

“I would recommend the apprenticeship route to anybody looking to train as a mental health nurse.

"Without this opportunity I would have never taken the step to doing my nurse training, but the apprenticeship meant I was able to earn a wage whilst studying at university. I have had constant support from LPFT, the university and the amazing cohort of apprentices that I am part of.

"Studying mental health nursing guarantees an interesting and varied career! Apply today!”
