Following a thorough and robust selection and recruitment process, overseen by the Council of Governors’ Nominations and Remunerations Committee at its meeting on 23 July 2026, Governors approved the appointment of two additional Non‑Executive Directors to Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust's (LPFT's) Board of Directors.
David King and Sir Steve Lancashire will join the Trust's Board of Directors on the 1 August 2026 for a three-year term of office.
David King brings extensive board-level, leadership and transformation experience across healthcare, local government, education and the private sector. He is Chair of the Board of Trustees at Embark Federation Multi-Academy Trust, overseeing governance and strategy for a 29-school organisation, and serves as an Independent Member of Derbyshire County Council’s Audit Committee. His career has included senior leadership roles with Boots UK, Interserve and local authorities, leading major transformation, digital and service improvement programmes.
A qualified pharmacist, David offers valuable insight into healthcare systems, governance and patient-centred services. He also brings significant lived experience of health inequalities, mental health services, dementia and community healthcare, which informs his commitment to inclusive leadership, compassionate services and improving outcomes for local communities.
Sir Steve Lancashire brings extensive board-level and senior leadership experience across local government and the wider public sector. He has held some of the most senior leadership roles in public service, providing strategic oversight, governance and accountability across complex organisations and systems. His experience spans organisational performance, public sector stewardship and stakeholder engagement, enabling him to operate effectively in challenging and high-profile environments.
Sir Steve has a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing health and care services, including quality, workforce, demand and public accountability. He is recognised for his commitment to public service, inclusive leadership and strong governance, bringing significant strategic insight and board experience to support organisational and system-wide improvement.
