Voices that make a difference - awards celebrate patients improving lives and services

Published on: 17th June 2026

Nominations have officially reopened for this year’s Every Voice People Awards, as the event returns for its third year.

The awards, organised by Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT), celebrates people using local mental health, learning disability and autism services, recognising the powerful role that lived and learnt experience can play in recovery, supporting others, and improving services.

Organised by the Trust’s Every Voice Patient Partners, the awards shine a light on individuals who are making a difference – whether through their own personal recovery journey, by helping others, or by influencing how services are delivered. They are held each year around World Mental Health Day to highlight the importance of hope, inclusion and people’s voices in shaping care.

Nominations are open to anyone currently using, or who has previously used LPFT services, as well as carers and family members, and groups and organisations in the community also supporting those using services. What matters most is the positive impact they have had – not the size of the achievement.

We are looking for people who may have:

  • Made meaningful progress in their own recovery and are rebuilding their lives in their community.

  • Supported others by sharing their experiences, offering encouragement or reducing stigma.

  • Helped to improve services by using their voice, insight or ideas to influence change.

Every nomination is a chance to recognise someone’s journey and the difference they make. All nominees will receive a certificate of recognition, and finalists will be invited to a special celebration event in October, where their stories will be shared and celebrated more widely.

Andy, the lead Every Voice Patient Partner organising the event said: “These awards are so important because they recognise the real journeys people go on – not just the challenges they’ve faced, but how they’ve moved forward, supported others and made a difference in their communities. For many of us, recovery isn’t about one big moment, it’s about lots of small steps, and it’s powerful to see those recognised.

Sharon Harvey, Chief Nursing Officer at LPFT said: “As a Trust, creating opportunities like the Every Voice People Awards is incredibly important because it reflects the kind of culture we are striving to build – one where people’s experiences are valued, listened to and used to shape the way we deliver care.

“I am proud to see patients leading this work, supported by our teams, as it demonstrates a real commitment to meaningful involvement. Hearing and celebrating these stories reminds us why partnership working matters and helps us continue to improve our services in ways that genuinely reflect what people need.”
