CALMS Groups

Who are CALMS?

This is a group for women and birthing people exclusively open to the Perinatal Mental Health Service.

Pregnancy and parenthood bring about a great deal of lifestyle changes in addition to other pre-existing pressures and in some people this can lead to anxiety, feelings of panic, irritability, poor sleep, excess worry, distorted thinking and difficulty making or taking time to unwind and relax.

Care and treatment

The group is a relaxed space for mothers and birthing people to visit during their pregnancy or with their babies.

This enables women or birthing people to connect with each other, and decrease the sense of isolation which many of us feel.

The group will offer a support network, where there is opportunity to explore a range of activities such as sensory and messy play, if you wish to participate.

We aim to create a warm and safe environment, and are flexible around the needs of you and your baby.

Group details

This group runs every week and an email is sent out to you before each session as a reminder.

This session is a drop-in session so you can choose whether to join us for the full session or just pop in when you can.

We also have a Walk and Talk Group available on the first and third Tuesday of each month, in Lincoln. Please ask for further details.

You can find details on the location, date and times of the two groups in Bourne and Lincoln below.
