Research

The Research Team is part of the Medical Directorate. The Team manages clinical research into mental health issues across the county. They provide Research Governance to an average of 50 ongoing studies. A number of these studies are part of National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).

The Research team aims to find out how to make real improvements to people's lives.

Research provides greater insight of the causes of mental health illness.

Research studies enable us to:

• Provide the best possible treatment
• Identify effective prevention strategies
• Minimise the impact of poor mental health on an individual's health and social well being.
