Learning Disability Week 14-20 June 2021

Published on: 18th June 2021

This year our learning disability service is focusing on the different ways in which we can collate feedback from our service users.

In the past this has may have been difficult for some due to communication issues so we are looking at how we can make this a much easier, flexible and accessible process for everyone.

Our experts by experience will be working with our learning disability hubs across the county to look at where we can make improvements and offer more choices.

To get us started during learning disability week we will be asking our service users three key questions:

1. What is the easiest way for people to give us feedback? For example...

  • Telephone
  • Email
  • Face to face
  • Easy read tick sheet
  • Video call

2. What is important to the service user - what do they want to tell us about our service?

3. How often do people want us to ask them during our service provision?

Our staff will be asking service users for their ideas throughout Learning Disability Week and using the information our Experts by Experience will work with the hubs and produce resources and plans for improving our process of collating feedback; ensuring our service users have choice and flexibility at each stage.

David (EbyE) said:

“I’m looking forward to this project. It is very important that people tell us what they think of our service, because without that we don’t know if we are doing okay”.
