The local mental health and learning disabilities trust has appointed three new NHS non-executive directors to help shape its services for the future.
Andy Spring, Sharon Robson and Adrian Carridice-Davids joined Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s (LPFT) Board of Directors on the 1 February 2019; their Board are jointly responsible for setting its objectives and scrutinising its performance.
In NHS foundation trusts they serve terms of up to three years and can only serve a maximum of six years, which helps to ensure regular refreshing, independent challenge and new ideas.
Andy Spring is a qualified accountant and experienced director with over 23 years’ experience at board level within NHS commissioning organisations, during which time he demonstrated his ability in strategic thinking, influencing, leadership and communication skills, in order to maximize the benefits for all stakeholders.
Andy explained that he was looking forward to working at LPFT.

With 37 years’ experience behind her as a registered nurse, Sharon Robson has held a wide variety of clinical leadership positions within NHS commissioning organisations, including board level executive nurse roles. Since retiring from the NHS in 2015 Sharon has worked independently and was appointed as an Independent Nurse for Nottingham City Clinical Commissioning Groups’ (CCGs) governing body.
Sharon said:
I am delighted to join the Trust and look forward to working alongside staff, governors, service users and their families and carers to continuously develop and improve the quality and experience of care.
Adrian Carridice-Davids has held a range of senior level positions throughout his career, including non-executive director, executive director and consultant. As a social entrepreneur he spent over 10 years running a business that was mission driven with social change at its core. He has worked in and for the voluntary and public sectors offering strategic oversight and development, working on initiatives with communities delivering, managing and overseeing projects covering a range of disciplines.
Adrian explained that his involvement with LPFT as a member encouraged his decision to apply for the role.
As an LPFT member I took part in the vision and values consultation. I recognised how closely the values of LPFT resonated with my own life values namely, 'To support people to live well in their communities'. I feel privileged to work for LPFT and hope to bring to it an increased passion for 'community', an innovative outlook and a strong belief in social action, through the empowerment of individuals to start taking greater responsibility for their lives and the lives of others. I am really looking forward to working with the Board and staff in achieving this vision.

We are very excited to be appointing three new non-executive directors. Andy, Sharon and Adrian bring great experience from different backgrounds and this will only help to further bolster our Board of Directors.
