A local mental health trust is showcasing best practice across the country for children and young people’s services.

Dr Tracey Urquhart, Service Manager for Young Minds Matter, the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) at Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Trust (LPFT), speaks at events around the country, demonstrating their high-quality service model and sharing good practice.

She represented health care providers, at a review of children and young people's mental health services in London with other experts from across the UK. The event aimed to bring together people working in children and young peoples’ mental health, from all levels and types of organisation to encourage joined-up working and to help provide consistent, person-centred care.

Dr Tracey Urquhart, a Clinical Psychologist said:

“Colleagues across the country regularly ask me for advice and want to know how we look after the mental health of children and young people in North East Lincolnshire.

“I’m more than happy to share our service models and experiences as children and young people’s mental wellbeing is at the forefront of my work, regardless of where they live.”

One hundred people from across the world were invited to a Downing Street reception for their inspirational work on transforming mental health services.

Dr Urquhart, who works for the North East Lincolnshire area went to Number 10 on World Mental Health Day.

Prime Minister, Theresa May made a speech at the event acknowledging that everyone is aware of someone with mental health issues and through working together organisations can prioritise the mental wellbeing of children.

Dr Urquhart added:

“It was a great honour and privilege to be invited to the Prime Minister’s reception. I was proud to represent LPFT and hear how the mental health of children and young people is being prioritised centrally.”

Dr Urquhart gave a presentation this month in Nottingham for a mental health workshop and is booked to speak at a national conference about transforming the mental health of children and young people, in March.
