Personal Protective Equipment
We have a well stocked supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) which is being stored centrally by the Incident Control Centre and can be distributed out as needed.
If you have a PPE request or query, you can contact the PPE room on the following number:
- 01522 307884
Alternatively for all PPE requests and queries you can contact our incident control centre on its dedicated email: lpft.ppe-covid19@nhs.net
When to use PPE?
How do I obtain PPE?
Apron and gloves – teams should continue to order as normal through their routine requisition procedures.
Masks – Masks have now arrived at the incident control room.
If your current stock is running low please contact the team as above.
Advice regarding PPE from other sources
It is important that PPE is only sourced through the NHS Supply Chairn or our PPE coordination team as above.
We are aware of many kind offers from our local community including schools/universities and private companies and other sources, however before we are able to use any such equipment these need to be robustly tested against essential quality standards. We need to ensure they provide the level of protection required and are robust enough not to break or cause injury.
Without these checks their use (and potential failure to protect staff) is the liability of the organisation involved.
