Trust signs up to Public Health Responsibility Deal

Published on: 20th March 2015

Our Trust has signed up to the Government's Public Health Responsibility Deal to play its part in improving staff mental health and wellbeing.

The deal, backed by the Department of Health and signed by our Board of Directors, consists of a series of voluntary pledges to signify its ongoing commitment to improve staff health and wellbeing and to support the national health and wellbeing strategy.

The voluntary pledge that we have signed up to helps to create an environment where anyone with past or present experience of mental health issues is valued, respected and able to flourish. This involves providing all staff with the environment, knowledge and tools to develop and maintain emotional resilience and mental wellbeing, while raising awareness of, and providing support for, mental health in the workplace.

Our associate director for HR and leadership, Tony Kavanagh, who has coordinated the delivery of the voluntary pledge for our organisation, said: “The Trust is a national leader in the mental health and wellbeing support it offers its staff through its own in-house staff well-being service. The Responsibility Deal provides our actions and progress to-date and demonstrates the Trust’s commitment improve the health and wellbeing of our staff.”
